Prints are
carefully crafted by the author of the image(s) from which they
were made. Most photographic
media fade with time and exposure to sunlight and pollutants. The
technology applied for these prints does not use soluble dyes that
are fugitive but, rather, pigments in suspension that are
especially designed and produced to improve the longevity of the
image when using compatible printing media. Nonetheless,
prints for display should be promptly, and professionally framed
after receipt, and hung where they are not exposed to direct
sunlight. Provided that they
are mounted and over-matted on acid free board behind glass, and
sealed from the back with an acid free board and tape, the prints
should last for very many years. Matt surfaced
prints are printed on specially manufactured and coated
water-colour papers. The prints are sensitive to abrasion and
should be treated with particular care prior to framing: I treat
them almost as if they were pastels but, as with any print, care
should be taken never to touch the image. I hope your print
will give many years of pleasure. |
